Your Royal Highness,
I wish to bring to your attention
a very serious matter concerning, what I believe, is a betrayal of the
British constitution. I'll be as brief as I can.
The issue of protection and
assistance for UK Nationals abroad is written into every UK passport. This
is done in your name. The ordeal I suffered on January 30th, 2008, as a
totally innocent and regular traveler to the US, belies what is written in
my passport. Without provocation or good reason or cause, I was interrogated
for up to 3 hours by US immigration in San Francisco on the above mentioned
date. I was then put back on a plane to the UK.
I was informed by the immigration
official interrogating me that I had no rights and that his organisation
could do anything with me. I was not allowed to speak to my Embassy or
Consulate, and not allowed any other form of communication with anyone who
could be of assistance to me. I was even forced to sign a statement under
protest upon pain of my Indonesian wife being targeted by US immigration and
suffering an equally unpleasant fate.
I was promised a copy of my
forcibly signed statement, but it has never been provided and the US
government refuses to release it - according to the Foreign & Commonwealth
Office Minister of State, Kim Howells.
My salient point is this. I have
been informed by Mr Howells that I have no human rights as a UK citizen when
traveling abroad. Essentially, the UK Government will not even protest
against abuses of UK citizens who are victim to the terror tactics of US
immigration officials.
This I will now make clear to you.
UNLESS this matter is addressed and that I receive justice, I shall be
compelled to issue a writ against the Crown, with yourself cited as a party
to this failure to uphold the guarantee as specified in my passport.
I hope you will show your
displeasure with your Minister and demand that he either do as I have
previously instructed him (see the 'evidence' page on my website for
details), and get me justice, or help me to remove this traitor from office.
His 'treason' has to be dealt with one way or another. He has shown contempt
for both of us.

illnesses made worse by my ordeal - especially bouts of severe depression. I

wife - a wife I have seen so little of since our marriage in the US and
which is causing both of us a great deal of heartbreak.
