I am back in the US after a
short break. Originally, I was intending to go anywhere but
the UK, but my brother died in early October and I had to
return to organise his funeral. I was away ten days and then
returned to the US on the 25th October, 2007.
From this point I resumed my
search for an apartment for me and Ling to share until we
could organise our departure to the UK (via Indonesia). I
reckoned that by August, 2008, we could achieve this.
The search continued, and by
December 1st, we found an apartment to rent in Tualatin. The
place where we lived seemed not to care too much about Ling-Ling's
status in the US. in fact, Americans like to make money any
way they can and they will always turn a blind eye to those
who have no status in the US. It's accepted that some people
are there illegally, but that they are also a useful source of
income.
